Comment Moderation Policy
Keep it civilized!
Trolling on this website will not be tolerated. If a comment is not constructive (or at least polite), or if it is an ad hominem attack on the author of this blog or another commenter, it will be deleted. In order to see your comment posted on this blog, you must contribute something substantive and constructive.
You are not owed an explanation for this policy, but, in the interests of clear communication and good will, please allow me to provide you with one. You see, your rights end where mine begin (and vice versa). While I do not have the right to limit your free speech by means of slander, libel and intimidation, neither do you have the right to limit my free speech in such ways.
The purpose of this blog is to bring attention to important issues and to discuss them in a civil – and, when possible, entertaining – way. If you cannot be civil, you have no place here. If all you can do is insult the author, because you can’t hold your own in a proper debate, go troll another blog. Your comments are welcome, but only if you can observe the rules of etiquette pertaining to respect for others.
This policy should be fairly forthright and easy to understand. If your comment has been deleted, and you still don’t understand why, just scroll back to the top of this page and start reading. Thanks.
